Livie had a good night. She slept through most of it and was bright eyed when we got here. The NP came by and removed Olivia's chest tube and now we have a talking baby! She's still quiet but she told me she loved me. When I responded with, "Ah, you melt my heart." She said, "I break your heart?" I explained the difference between a happy melty heart and sad broken heart and she said, "You melt my heart too." I may have died of happiness a little.
We're hoping that with the chest tube gone Livie might show a little more interest in eating but she is at least drinking. She's been taking tylenol and motrin for pain and that seems to be enough. She has switched from IV diuretics to oral and is taking those without a fight. So, her meds list thus far is as follows: Tylenol, motrin, oxy as needed, zofran (motrin makes her tummy sad) diuril, aspirin, lasix enalapril, and she starts miralax today. Quite the list but we should be shrinking that list down over the next few days.
She needs to go on three walks, start eating, as well as weening some of the meds before we can go home. According to Sonja, the NP, the H word could possibly happen on Monday! I'll be honest, that scares the bajeebies out of me! But I'm excited.
