We lucked out in that Dr. Eckhauser came to see us about 45 minutes earlier than predicted. Olivia is officially done and on her way to the CICU. We will be able to go see her in about 45 minutes.
So, everything went well. She did have a short spell of low BP and HR but after a little epinephrine everything came back up. Her sats are sitting in the low to mid 90's which is not something we're used to but excited to see.
While in there, Dr. Eckhauser removed some collaterals that he says will grow back but that's not hard to deal with. So Livie is done and the next 45 minutes are going to tick by too slowly. Andrew asked for a leftover piece of the conduit and I'm afraid the good surgeon thought he was a little weird for wanting that but oh well. While I miss Dr. Kaza like crazy, I am incredibly grateful for the work Dr. Eckhauser did today. We made it!
