Day 11

Day 11:  Considering the date today I think it only fitting that I express my gratitude for Veterans.

 Over the summer there were parades and patriotic songs and Ella had a lot of questions.  "Why do we stand when the flag passes?  Why do we put our hand on our heart during that song?"  I explained what our country was and that there are men and women that protect us.  I started crying as I explained to Ella that grammy was born while Great Grandpa Pete (pictured left) was flying planes during the cold war.  Then it got worse as I told her about her friend Lorelai not having her daddy at home for the first nine months of her life.
I have had many family members serve in the military and for their sacrifice I am forever grateful.  Words are not enough to express what I feel for all the individuals, family and friends, who have and do serve our country.
