Day 12: Home. There's that little saying that goes "home is where the heart is" or the one that says home is where your family is or something like that. I totally agree with that sentiment but sometimes a place just feels right. In the 4 apartments Andrew and I lived in our first few years f marriage always felt strange while I got used to them and settled. But our new house never felt that way. Even in the uproar of being freshly moved in with walls painted in styles not our own this place felt like home. With each passing day I make it more mine, yet it feels like it has always been mine. I have this beautiful home, beautiful yard and neighborhood. I'm looking forward to giving my girls the kind of childhood I had where Halloween night the streets are filled with trick-or-treaters, summers are filled with kids on scooters and bikes, surrounding houses are decked out with Christmas lights, and every neighbor is a friend. It was a long, stressful wait to find this house and I often wondered if I'd ever get to the point where I'd say, "Oh, that's why all those others didn't work out." I'm pleased to say, I've gotten there.
