Well, it looks like there will not be a day of rest for us. Olivia has had a rough morning. She threw up after her xray this morning and then again half-way through her lasix dose. We're pretty sure that her tummy is just unhappy with the motrin on an empty stomach. She is eating but not great yet so...yeah. Combine unhappy tummy with nasty lasix, I would throw up too.
On the bright side, with the puking comes washing. Livie got somewhat cleaned up. Not a full blown sponge bath but more than she's had in days. She got new bedding, new clothes, and we also got her a new hairdo. The bed head was really out of control. Now Livie looks all shiny and new.
Hopefully after this morning we can settle down for a nice day of rest. Still, there is a plan to adhere to. We're waiting for rounds for the definite plan but I'm guessing her chest tube won't be removed today. It's still draining even though it has slowed a ton. I guess they could surprise me but I'll prepare myself to stay anyway. Olivia's oxygen continues to improve. They were able to ween her down to .5 liter last night and she is satting at 92. Yay!
Livie's personality is slowly returning. Having Ella visit yesterday helped a ton. We took both girls to the playroom and they even fought a little bit. After Andrew and Ella left Livie and I played with playdough and listened to disney music. Livie ate a little dinner and then went to bed on time. Of course, then she woke up at midnight and wouldn't go back to sleep...But hey. This morning Livie is talking more, arguing more, and being herself. She even told the nurse, "I always right. Mommy wrong."
So, they just rounded and the goal for today is to get livie up and moving. They've switched her lasix to twice a day. We need to get Livie walking to make sure her chest tube gets all the fluid. If all goes well, Livie's chest tube will be removed this afternoon and depending on her xray tomorrow morning...HOME!?!? I'm not holding my breath but Livie has been asking to go home this morning and I would love to make that happen for her.
