Half Way There

We made it through our week of no food.  Olivia handled it beautifully.  Mommy, not so much.  Everytime her tummy growled my heart broke a little.  I hated it.
But, yesterday they started her on 1 ml an hour and today she's up to 2 ml's an hour.  It will take about a week to work her back up to full feeds.  So far she's handling it well.  Her hands and feet get a little sweaty what with the extra work her body is having to do to digest food but she's happy and functioning well.
As for her oxygen, she's better than she was.  We've been able to turn down her oxygen to .3 liters.  Much better than 3 liters.  They've tried weening her but she's just not having it.
Because of our 3 admits and all these setbacks Dr. Kaza has decided this is her last chance.  One more setback and she'll be getting her glenn.  I have mixed emotions about this.  It would be nice to get it over with and get Olivia to a point where we're not having to come back here ALL the time.  But, even though the glenn should make her more stable it's not a guarantee.  Nothing is with this girl.  That and I'm told the glenn is the worst recovery.  Maybe not time wise but mood wise.  Makes sense.  She'll be old enough that she's moving lots more and awake more and hence, in more pain.  But, she won't understand what's going on like she should for her fontan in a few years.  At this point, we just wait and see.  If she stick with her usual "back two weeks after release" then it'll be around September 7.
