Swallow Study...

Passed!...sorta...Olivia passed on nectar thick, which I will take.  It's better than nothing.  The plan so far is to keep the NJ tube (boo) and try feeding her thickened milk during the day and do continuous feeds at night.  The speech therapist will start working with her this afternoon and hopefully soon we can get Livie babe on regular milk.  Even though it's not a realistic goal, I'm hoping to take Livie home without any feeding tubes at all...we'll see how well she does with her training with the speech therapist.  If we get her off feeding tubes altogether then we'll be taking her home without ANY tubes!  Can you believe it?  Olivia is off of oxygen entirely and sating between 75 and 85, which is right where they want her.  I certainly wasn't expecting that.  We are also heading upstairs today!  Wahoo for getting our own room!  Not only that but I, me, mommy will actually get to take care of her baby!  I'm nervous but so excited.

So exciting! What a good start to feeding. I don't know if this will help or not, but Tanner hated the "normal" bottle nipples but when we switched to the NUK nipples he drank like a rock star.
And YAY for going to the floor! It will be hard work for you but SO worth it to finally be able to care for your little Livie.
Go Livie and Mama!
