Busy Busy Day!

My girl is on her way to normalcy!  Catheter is already gone.  The IV in her neck is gone.  Her feeding tube is being put to use and they're slowly increasing her feeds.  If she handles that well then they'll start increasing feeds every 6 hours rather than every 12 like they are now.  Some medications have been stopped (Epi, and a few others) and others are being decreased (lasix.)  She's lost her stomach drain today also and Nurse Katie says that if she keeps going the way she has then Saturday is not an unrealistic goal for being extubated!  Hooray!  And even if she still needs some help from the ventilator she will at least be less tuby for sure.  I'll take what I can get.
Last night I was a little worried about her because her stomach was measuring about a cm bigger than normal and the pulses in her lower extremities were a little weird so they were watching closely to make sure everything was ok.  But, after no calls all night I was feeling better.  Turns out she just has a little extra gas from the NJ tube being put in.  So she'll just be passing gas all day and should be fine.
So the girl is making sure to keep the nurses busy still without actually being a naughty little thing.  I guess she's just a big ol' tease like her big sister.

The best part after heart surgery is updating about another tube, wire, or something being removed. Each one is another accomplishment. Good luck with everything.

All that DR jargon goes way past my head, but it all sounds good! Glad she's more tube-less.
