Our Home Away From Home

And we're back...
Once again Livie decided to desat.  We had to increase her oxygen to a full liter.  After our first readmission a couple weeks ago the highest she'd had to go was 1/4 liter.  So she sunk low enough that even at a liter (which is the highest her concentrator goes) wasn't enough.  Of course, as soon as I called the heart baby hotline her sats went back up.  Then after getting the "Come on down" we loaded Livie in her carseat and switched her over to her O2 tank.  She then promptly sunk SUPER low and we had to crank the O2 up to 2 liters.  Luckily, the tank did go that high.  She stayed on 2 liters the entire ride and then throughout admittance, vitals, chatting with Sonya (nurse practitioner) and settling into our room.  We've gotten her down to half a liter now but her sats are still ALL over the place.  She has had a snotty nose yesterday and today so they were worried she had a respiratory infection but luckily her xrays looked good and her lungs sound just fine.  So that's very good.
But, now that we're back for a second time for the same reason there's a possibility of Livie heading to cath lab.  For those of you who don't know what that is, it is considered a surgery :( It's generally an outpatient thing as long as there aren't any complications.  The purpose for the cath lab would be to get in there and see if her sano (the shunt that was placed in her heart) is narrowed.  If it is then they would place a stent to open it up and help with blood flow.
This readmission may also mean an early glenn.  The glenn is the next surgery for Livie.  Originally her cardiologist was thinking sometime in September so if it's bumped up we may be looking at next month.
It's been quite the day.  We're all doing well considering.  Livie had better timing this go around.  She decided to desat in the middle of the day so we got here around 6 pm as opposed to 2 am.  Also, Ella has been spending the week with her buddy and his mommy, my old room mate Shannon.  So we didn't have to scramble to find a sitter.  I also packed a bag this time so I don't have to wear dirty undies tomorrow!  Woohoo!  And the computer so I can keep you all posted as well as myself entertained.
