Home!

This morning they told us tomorrow would be the day.  Luckily I hadn't planned on today even though I had hoped for it.  Her sats were indeed improving and we were even able to turn off her oxygen for a little while.  They scheduled a swallow study since we were there, which was nice since I was planning on asking for one if we were stuck another day.  Might as well make use of our time there.  If she passed the plan was to keep her overnight to watch how she handled the NG tube and having a lot more in her stomach than she's used to.  Alas, she did not pass.  So, they decided we could go home after all.  Her sats were much better and we're stuck with the NJ for at least a month longer.  Of course, it couldn't be that easy.  So right before we signed the discharge papers Livie pooped and her diaper was a little odd.  Basically it was more a greenish color with black flecks in it.  So, it was off to Xray to make sure she hadn't developed NEC or anything.  Xrays were good so they're pretty sure it's just because she's been messed with a lot over the past little while.  It should just clear itself up and if not, we'll have another adventure sometime in the future.
During this whole thing I never told Andrew that we were coming home.  I didn't want to tell him something not true, plus, I like surprises.  So we got home, knocked on the door and I can hear Ella yelling inside the house "It's mommy!"  The girl must have a sixth sense or something.  Andrew was surprised but seeing as he is him, his reaction was very boring.  Someday he'll react to a surprise...someday.
