"Thanks to God." When your surgeon says that rather than "Thanks to me" you know you got a good one. This brilliant man just got my baby girl to stage two. He said we win the size competition and he expects her to do very well. The surgery itself went great. He removed the sano and stent, redirected blood flow from the upper extremities so it will flow passively to the lungs, and closed her up. There were some big medical words thrown around like the trans something gradient which is the difference in her pulmonary and heart pressures and hers were great. They are now trying to get her off the ventilator and will get her all settled in the cicu before we can head down to see her. These first twelve and 24 hours are still critical but not near as much as with the norwood and since she did so well with that I'm confident she'll do just fine this time around as well.

An Ode To Dr. Kaza
I am so incredibly grateful for Dr. Kaza and all those who worked on Olivia. It is such a relief to be done with this surgery and hopefully any hospital stays for quite some time. I admit, I will miss some of the hospital staff that I've gotten to know but I do sincerely hope I don't see some of them (i. e. Anyone that won't be involved in the normal heart appointments) for another couple years.
Thank you all for the fasting, prayers, good vibes, happy heart dances, crossed fingers, and thoughts. Love you all.

So happy all went well!
I am so glad surgery went so well. Dr. Kaza really is an incredible man. I pray now that they can get the right cocktail of pain meds for her and that she can sleep peacefully through recovery. Hugs!
