5 Months

I know it's usually six months that's a bigger deal but I feel like having a massive celebration.  At 5 months Olivia has gone through two open heart surgeries and recovered from both beautifully!  I'd say that's a lot to celebrate.  Not only is she 5 months but we are 2.5 weeks post op and where are we?  HOME!!!  Yay for the glenn breaking out 2 weeks home then back to PCMC streak.
Olivia is getting stronger every day.  She loves sitting up supported by her boppy.  She's still working on the balance but is doing very well.  After showing the pediatrician her sitting up he said she's ahead in that.  Now, when it comes to rolling over, she is behind.  She still doesn't.  She just doesn't get tummy time.  After her followup appointment on Wednesday we'll find out when she'll be able to do tummy time again.
Olivia loves playing with hands.  Hers, ours, doesn't matter.  She hasn't shown a great amount of interest in toys.  As long as she has hands to her binky to play with she's a happy girl.  If she does decide to play with toys she prefers her jingly dice that hang on her car-seat.  Well, she likes any of her hangy toys.  She's a fan of her swing's mobile as well.  She just loves swatting at and trying to grab the toys.
Olivia is FINALLY starting to really coo.  She's such a quiet baby and really only cried whenever she needed to express anything.  But, finally, sweet girl is actually liking to talk.  She especially likes to talk in falsetto.  It's pretty stinkin' funny.  When she gets really excited she does a sort of hiccup giggle thing.  And still, no one can get Liv talkin' and laughing quite like big sister.
We're currently trying to work on Liv's nap schedule.  She prefers to have 3 shorter naps throughout the day which means I have to haul her with all her tubes trailing to the bedroom three times.  Her oxygen continuously manages to get caught under the fridge and that IV stand has some very pointy edges.  So yeah, we're trying to train her to take two longer naps.  But, she sleeps wonderfully at night so I can't complain really.

Olivia is such a sweetie.  She is such an incredibly happy baby.  These past five months have been a complete blur and I feel like I was robbed of those first few months.  But, I these past two weeks (especially since we switched Liv's milk) I feel like we're making up for lost time.  Pre-glenn the house was always trashed because I was so busy and stressed.  Post-glenn I plan on it being trashed because us girls play all day long.

I am so happy to see she is doing so well! Way to go for listening to your mommy gut and putting her back on your milk. It is so nice to hear how happy she is now. How wonderful to finally be able to see and experience the post-Glen baby that you have been told about! Hugs to you sweet mommy!
