October was a very eventful month. And it started out with a positive pregnancy test. Yes, yes, I know we may be a little early at spilling the beans but even my doctor said that I was a pro at pregnancy and such. Plus, I'm horrible at keeping my own secrets. Especially when they're exciting ones.
So here's some background on the whole Andrew, Sarah parents of two thing. As many of you know though you may not remember, Ella was born the day before my birthday. After that Andrew would joke around that he should get a baby for his birthday too. Well, as the time got closer and we got thinking about things a beginning of summer baby sounded pretty awesome. So we decided that's what we'd try for. There was some drama with insurance and dates getting postponed but eventually we decided that we couldnt' just wait around for insurance to get their act together. So we tried and ta-da! Andrew will indeed be getting a baby for his birthday. I'm due June 8th and his b-day is the 11th. Close enough.
I took the test when I was only a day late but I had been having the sore boobs symptoms all week so I was pretty sure I knew the answer. I waited until Andrew was gone home teaching and peed on the stick with Ella watching (judge me if you want but she wasn't going to let me lock her out.) Ella thought the stick looked pretty cool so once I set it down she tried to snatch it. The positive result was showing up after only 30 seconds so I told her that if it was indeed positive she could give it to daddy. We then ate dinner, gave her a bath and drew "I'm going to be a big sister" on a onesie while we waited for Andrew to get home. When he did she came out with the onesie on and handed Andrew the test. It was dark out by this time and he was sitting furthest away from the lamp so couldn't read the test. He said "So what does it say?" I of course am thinking, why would I give you a negative pregancy test. Instead of saying that is just told him to look at Ella's onesie. The man is blind to details apparently. He then looked at me and says "Really?" All nice and calm. I say yeah and that if the internet is correct I'm due around June 8th. He says "Cool." And goes back to watching TV. LAME! But you have to understand, Andrew and his family don't react very big to anything. So it wasn't until later when he patted my belly and said "Good night baby" that I knew he was as excited as me. He's just kinda silly that way.
Ella is pretty excited too. She says that mommy is having a baby sister for her. But that we'll name her Marshall (a name we like for a boy) Turns out she just doesn't like our top girl name. We really have no preference on boy or girl. Just a healthy baby. Ella likes giving the baby kisses, which inevitably turn into raspberries. She will also talk to the baby. Mostly just saying "hi" and "I love you, baby" I haven't explained that the baby can't hear her yet. No need to ruin her fun.
This next part is more for a pregnancy journal so feel free to read but it's more for my own documentation.
I started feeling sick on my birthday :( so cheese and crackers were my b-day meal. This morning sickness has been very close to how it was with Ella. I felt sick 24/7 for about two weeks but never threw up. After the two weeks it started easing up and I'd feel sick in the morning, or at night but rarely all day. After the 3rd week of feeling sick (this put me around 8weeks) I was feeling pretty good most of the time. Now I really only feel nasty if I get too hungry. Oh, and chicken and bread are not my friends. Unless it's french bread.
With this pregnancy I have experienced a lot more abdominal pain. It hasn't been cramping and I haven't been spotting so I wasn't too worried but I did talk to my dr about it. Turns out, it's just ligaments stretching already. I knew things happened quicker on the second pregancy but I didn't realize it would be that much quicker. Well, my belly has already begun to expand. I dont' necessarily look pregnant but my pants are tighter and there's a nice little crease mark showing up where my undies cross my belly. My grandma is predicting twins but we still have a couple of weeks before my first dr. appt. Oh and my hips are already bothering me too.

Steve doesnt react in a big way either. Its nice to see their excitement in their own way.
Congratulations!! It's going to be so cute to see how Ella likes being a big sister! You are also on the same pregnancy track that I was with Levi (due June 2nd, born June 9th). That means you'll be finding out what you're having in early to mid January!! Can't wait to hear if it's a little mister or a another little lady! <3
P.S. Your little Ella picture on the side bar may need a year adjustment since on October 6th, 2007 you were only married for almost 2 months...unless you really ARE more amazing at being pregnant than even you were aware of. ;)
(My original comment had a spelling typo that I had to fix. It bugged too much.)
