Six!

After a week of, "It's almost my birthday!" and a constant countdown, this not so little girl made it! There were times she wasn't sure if the excitement would kill her or not, but we are happy to say, it did not.
This morning we headed to Village Inn for Ella's birthday breakfast. When I went into her room to wake her up she was already bright eyed with a giant smile on her face. After breakfast, school, and playing with friends Ella headed to town to get her birthday dinner. She specially requested stuffed crust, Hawaiian pizza and fruit salad. That's my kind of birthday dinner. After dinner Ella was ready for presents but daddy decided we should watch a movie and wait. Ella picked ghostbusters for our movie tonight but didn't last long before she was in her room complaining of a tummy ache. When we said she could do presents her tummy ache miraculously was cured. Now, she sits happily playing with her new legos and watching ghostbusters.

This girl is so far from 'little' anymore. She is outgrowing all that adorable little girl stuff and is more and more grown up. While it breaks my heart, I love seeing her personality grow brighter every day. Ella may have outgrown her Disney princess phase (sorta, she still loves princess's) but she loves the fantastical. Monsters and mythical creatures, magic and the supernatural. I love her imagination. Ella loves playing on her own, just pretending, telling herself stories, singing, and, of course, I encourage it. Ella is beautiful inside and out. She loves her friends to pieces and is so trusting. Sometimes a little too trusting when her friends tell her some far-fetched stories but it's all good. Ella loves school and seems to be doing well. I'll find out for sure on Thursday for PTC.
I really can't believe it's been six years since I first held this little stinker in my arms. She gave me the crash course on how to be a mommy and a better person. She reminds me what it means to forgive, to love, and to have fun. She gives the best snuggles, and can be the sweetest big sister. Ella is incredibly patient with all of us as we try to figure out this whole life thing. I love this girl to bits and pieces and more and more every day. Happy Birthday baby girl!
