Olivia has certainly reached that point in life where most of what she says is pretty hilarious. And I love it, so enjoy some funnies courtesy of a toddler's mind.
*On our way to Olivia's cardiology appointment she was disappointed that I didn't pack pajamas. She wanted to have a sleepover at the hospital, the little weirdo (she's excited to have a sleepover for her cath now.) When I told her we weren't sleeping there she said, "Are we going to the hospital so you can have a baby?" I explained that I didn't have a baby in my tummy but she still wasn't sure. I said, "See? Mommy's tummy isn't big enough for a baby to be inside." So she responded, "Well, daddy's is." I laughed for a good couple minutes then she said her tummy was big enough too. She then proceeded to tell me she wanted a baby sister named Russell. Um, sorry honey. No.
* The other day, on our way to pick Ella up from school, we were walking past a field. There were some dandelions and Livie got really excited but couldn't remember what they were called so she dubbed them "cot ball flowers" aka cotton ball flowers.
Now for the developmental stuff.
Olivia has always loved singing. Mostly mommy singing to her, but lately she's been picking up on more and more. I listen to A LOT of music. My house is rarely silent and Olivia has been picking up on it. Yesterday she was singing "Part of Your World" at the dinner table. She will sing the chorus of quite a few of my favorite songs and is learning the Christmas songs better (yes, I have started listening. Don't judge! When your child has an upcoming procedure you'd do whatever you could to get your mind off of it.)
Olivia is learning to clean up after herself. Sort of. It's a battle. A major battle. This girl is so stubborn her room may only be clean after all her stuff has been banished to a garbage sack. As it is, that's where half of it is right now. She's slowly earning her toys back but...very slowly.
Olivia is also experimenting with throwing tantrums and attitude. OI! This girl is going to be the death of me. On the bright side, it's making her pending sedation more inviting. I kid, I kid...
For the most part, though, Olivia is amazing. She is still my little snuggler and love to randomly tell me "I love you." She loves playing kitty and mommy (with her baby dolls) and baby (with Ella as her mommy) She is loyal as ever to her favorite movies and has been thrilled to pieces with her halloween costume (pictures to come.)
Health wise, Olivia is doing well. Her energy is back up and we've been able to turn her oxygen back down. We've even been giving her time without it and she loves it. She'll yell at me, "Mom! I can run because I don't have my ox-gen!" I'm wondering if this girl has figured out how to fake the obvious low sats so that we get her treated for the less obvious underlying problems because I swear every time we schedule a cath she bounces back from the sat issues. Tender mercies I think.
