13 Months

My baby girl is no longer a baby!  Well, I like to say she is.  In my mind a baby doesn't graduate to toddlerhood until they are toddling, aka walking.  So, my baby is still my baby.  For a little bit longer.

My Livie Lou has blossomed over the last month.  She had been a little behind and I was getting a little worried that she would be needing speech therapy in the future.  But, my little stinker has decided that as a one year old she will talk.  She is a stubborn little thing but she will indeed talk when she feels like it.  She will sign as well.  Again, ONLY when she feels like it.  The signs she does know are as follows, all done, more, please, milk, and she nods or shakes her head for yes and no.  In words she says we have hi which is more of a "ha" bye-bye, blanky, binky, bottle, daddy all as "baba"  more "ma" done which actually sounds like the real thing and spider.  Impossible to type how that one sounds but believe me when I say it's freaking adorable.  I know, random first long word but her favorite song is Itsy Bitsy Spider complete with the finger play.  She loves it.  And even though she's starting to talk, she still prefers to scream for everything.  Not my favorite thing in the world but we're working on it.
Olivia is growing more into her personality and I must say, I've got two major comedians on my hands. First Ella and now my little babe who likes to pretend to be the godfather.  She recently figured out if she tips her head back to strain her vocal chords a bit it makes a nice little wheezy grunty noise.  Andrew completed the process by showing her how to wave her little hand in front of her and say "I'm the godfather."  She can't say it but she does wave her little hand and makes her wheezy grunty noise.  She loves making us laugh.  If she does anything funny, she'll keep doing it just to keep us laughing.  And she is always excited to laugh herself.  She's not one for belly laughs but she's not hard to get giggling.  Ella is really the only on who can get her to belly laugh and it usually involves playing chase with a lot of screaming.  Everyone told me with girls there would be a lot of emotional stuff but no one ever mentioned the screaming.  Ah well, it's sweet most of the time.
Olivia has been a little interesting with her sleeping habits as of late.  Ever since we pulled the feeding tube she stopped sleeping through the night.  Of course, we trying to make sure she kept gaining weight and sine she wasn't very good at eating we were feeding her.  Of course that ruined things.  But, over the past couple months she was getting worse.  I'm talking 3-5 times a night up.  I was exhausted.  But, I am happy to report that the problem has been fixed.  Wahoo!
Olivia is loving outside.  She loves eating dirt, grass, wood chips at the park, popsicles, and on and on.  Outside is one of her favorite places to be.  The only downside is the girl runs a little on the hot side.  Well, she just seems to have crazy temp issues.  She turns blue when she's even a little cold and her cheeks turn bright rosy red when she's hot.

On the medical front, I think everything's great.  Oh, her late one year stats are 23.6 lbs and I'm not sure about height and am currently too lazy to go get the paper.  She has a sedate echo on the 12th and yes, I am extremely nervous about it.  At her one year appointment her pediatrician said her heart sounded different than it had in the past.  Like there was a little snap to it or something.  That combined with her heart rate dipping kinda low when she's sleeping...I'm nervous.  Her sats have been find though.  As usual for her they have a fairly wide range but never drop too low.  Generally they're anywhere from 80-90%.  Tonight she's actually sitting at 92-93%  so I'm hoping that's a good sign.
I love my stubborn girl.  I've got two sassy pants that keep me crazy busy and I couldn't be happier.
