Silly

Ella, my amazing little girl is not so little anymore.  I look at her and can't believe how much she's changed in the three and half+ years of her life.  She is a show off, a ham, a sweetheart, a tease, a great cuddler, an energetic playmate, and on and on.

Ella loves making us laugh.  And she loves laughing.  Ella has recently taken to "laughing" at EVERYTHING.  It doesn't have to be funny, or she doesn't have to get the joke, but if everyone's laughing, or she thinks someone should be laughing she will belt out her fake laugh.  She has also recently become obsessed with the wicked witch from Wizard of Oz and flies around the house on her broom stick cackling and trying to steal our "glass ruby slippers."
There are plenty of things Ella picks up and I know exactly where she them from.  For example, one day she comes up to Andrew and I and starts telling us some story about dropping something or some sort of accident related tale.  She then finished her story by saying, "and I was like, craaaaap"  and the crap was in a high pitched sing-song voice.  I may or may not have peed a little from laughing at that one.  Of course, Ella has two parents who maybe should clean up their language a bit.  FYI We don't do the swears and haven't had any incidences with "WTH's" or other such profanities escaping our little girls mouth.
This month, I've got a load of funny stories so I'll just continue.  Bare with me, they're not in any particular order and may seem a little scattered.
Let's start with some stereotypes Ella has concocted.  I say concocted because they're not anything I've ever really heard, but she seems to think apply to all in that category.  Apparently, old women, AKA grandma's, only eat tomato soup and have scratchy voices.  One evening we had tomato soup and grilled cheese for dinner.  Ella ate her grilled cheese, took one sip of her soup and says with her nose all scrunched, clearly disgusted, "this is grandma soup."  For those who don't know me super great, when I get tired I get what I like to call my "old man voice."  My voice drops about five octaves and gets nice and gravelly.  Ok, I'm sure it's not that bad but one particular evening as I was getting Ella put to bed she notices my scratchy voice and says, "Mom, why you sound like a grandma?"
Another, all babies are dumb.  I can't remember the conversation Ella and I were having but it was concerning Olivia.  I said something about Olivia thinking something and Ella's response was, "She don't think.  Her a baby."
In our home, the floor is always dirty.  Olivia recently decided that she MUST feed herself.  And when she's done, she throws her excess food on the floor.  And about a half hour later, she heads back into the kitchen and eats off the floor if I haven't gotten to it.  So, we started joking about her saving it for later.  And Ella has picked up on that.  The other morning Ella dumps some of her eggs on the floor and when I scolded her she got that attitudy sassy face on and says, "mommy, I'm making a mess for sister."  She has also picked up on how we DON'T like Liv eating yucky food off the floor.  One day I ate something nasty and wasn't feeling well.  Ella asked what was wrong so I told her and her response was, "You did eat yucky food off the floor?"
Ella loves her daddy.  A lot.  And he provides her with plenty of opportunity for silly sayings.  After one particular shower Andrew was smelling quite good and Ella says, "Ooo daddy.  I did smell you handsome, like a real man."  Sure, it doesn't make complete sense but we at least know that real men smell like Old Spice's Swagger.  Another instance with daddy was not as flattering.  Andrew was in dire need of a haircut and as we were getting started (I cut his hair)  Ella says, "Daddy, your hair is long like a princess."  We of course laughed and asked her if daddy looked pretty.  Her response, "No, daddy's too ugly."
And last, Ella's little friend Adam is a vacuum.  Anytime we have snacks, he shovels 'em in.  It is common to hear "Slow down, Adam" from his mother.  So one day Ella was shoveling her food in (which is not common for her) so I asked her to slow down and she responds, "Slow down like Adam?"
Life is never dull with Ella.  She is such a sweetheart, stinker, and everything in between.  I am one lucky mama.
