The Party

What an exhausting weekend!  But totally worth it.
First off, Wednesday night, Olivia's official birthday, we had a very small party.  It consisted of Mac 'n Cheese dinner (Liv's favorite) chocolate cupcakes (that were less than pretty due to the recipe making a super soft and moist cake that doesn't transfer to nice all in one piece cupcakes) and presents (which were boring clothes since we wanted to save the fun stuff for the big party.)  Liv loved it all.  Ok, she didn't really care about the clothes but she sure liked the cupcake.  She even tried blowing out the candle.  By the time we were eating cake she was super tired and had a few bites and then decided she was done.  How did she let us know she was done?  Oh, ya know.  She just took handfuls of cupcake and threw them on the floor.  It was cute.
Saturday finally arrived.  Andrew and I have decided that we'll take the girls to breakfast on their Birthday's because who doesn't love Village Inn?  Ok, we didn't know if Liv would but she did.  She had a little bit of everyones breakfast and made a nice sticky mess of herself.  Unfortunately I forgot the camera for that.
We headed home for Liv's nap and party prep.  I was smart this year and pawned off some of the prep to others.  Andrew's cousin, Candi, owed us a favor.  Sorta.  Andrew was more than happy to help them with the flooring in their new house but when she said she owed us I was more than willing to take her up on it.  So she made a gorgeous cake, we got Papa Murphey's to feed the crowd, and I had those who offered bring drinks and such.  I'll tell you what, that made the party so much more pleasant for me.  With Ella's first I was so stressed out because I didn't share the planning load.  Ah well, lessons learned.
There was a great turn out.  People came who I wasn't expecting to see.  Only a very few missed.  I didn't bother planning any activities since the crown consisted of ages ranging from 1-80+ (sorry gramma, don't remember how old grandpa is)  So we just chatted and ate.  Liv didn't get a chance to blow out the candle since it was just slightly too breezy.  Sucked for the candle but was nice for the rest of us.  Instead, Liv just shoved the candle down into the cake.  Liv got the perfect assortment of presents.  I had added on Liv's invite that presents weren't necessary but most brought something anyway.  Which means I have to write thank you notes now...Thanks guys...Just teasin'  Anyway, Liv loves every single present.  Her favorites have been an electronic something or other from Aaron and Juston (her aunt and uncle) and then a couple of toothbrushes from mommy and daddy.  She even slept with a toothbrush for her afternoon nap yesterday.  She also received a squirt bottle (from us) since she loves drinking from them.  She always steals Ella's hair squirt bottle for a drink which is gross.  She got multiple darling outfits, a stuffed giraffe made by Auntie Tera, a car/stroller thing (also a favorite) and more.  She is one spoiled girl.

Liv loved being in the spotlight.  She showed off for everyone, making us all laugh while she bowed/layed down, and played.
