Day 3 was nice and rainy. The girls were a little weirded out by the rain since it was more misty than droplets, but we got plenty wet by the end of the day. So, because of the rain, we went to the aquarium! Andrew and I have a little tradition of penny smashing on our vacations. It started in Disneyland on out honeymoon. The girls were thrilled to join the tradition.
Livie did touch a sea star, surprise, surprise. Of course once was enough and I didn't get a picture.
The sea lion had been asleep until we got up there and then he struck a pose. Speaking of, a couple days later Andrew and I were having a romantic walk on gleneden beach and found a dead sea lion. Luckily, it was dark and we couldn't tell for sure and we weren't gunna get close enough to see. Andrew thought it was driftwood someone tried burning (some white was shining through.) I thought it was too weirdly shaped for driftwood and that the white was skull. Andrew checked the next day and sure enough, dead sea lion with its face ripped off. Probably not my favorite part of Oregon, but the little boys on the beach thought it was pretty cool.
The girls were so excited to see the sharks. SO EXCITED!
Checking out agate beach in the rain was...wet. We didn't find any agates either.
We also ate at Chowder Bowl at Nye Beach which was my favorite! So good! It was a fun day. Gramma and grandpa stayed at the hotel so it was nice to get a day just to ourselves.
