This seems like such a bigger number than 16 months. Maybe it's because Olivia is looking less and less like my baby and more and more like my toddler. Her little legs are losing some of their chub and I am ever grateful for the chubby cheeks that I'm sure will stick around for a year or so.
In true toddler fashion, Olivia has started exploring with tantrums. They are so darn cute. She'll occasionally throw herself onto the floor. She'll whip out that cry that breaks your heart and makes you giggle at the same time. Tantrums at this age are just darling. And she's quickly learning that they don't work.
Olivia has been working extra hard this month on talking. Well, we've been working with her and she's been resisting. She just doesn't care to talk, which is so different from Ella that I'm a little lost as to what to do. But, we're sticking to our guns on certain things and seeing the payoff. She now says "more" "milk" "mama" "dada" and "Ella" all with intention. She will also say "Donald Duck" "Belly Button" "Thank you" "cookie" "Cracker" She is surprising me at how well she's doing. Things most kids struggle with while learning to talk she is figuring out like the "l" sound and the "k" sound. Liv says Ella pretty darn well when you can actually hear it. She usually just whispers it. And cookie and cracker are more "k" sounds than vowel. So she may not talk much but I'm sure once she decides it's not so bad she'll be awesome.
My little Livie is such a fun little thing. She makes the funniest faces. Her favorite being a scared/happy face. Serious, it looks like a face she'd make if she were on a roller-coaster. It's on my camera so I will post it later. She loves making us laugh. Especially daddy. That girl is so darn smitten by him. Anytime daddy's around she's just got to be right by him. Of course, as a true child, if she needs something she asks for mama but daddy's the one she wants. She also is completely smitten by sister. Those two girls are everything to each other. True, Ella can be a little invasive but Liv's a good sport most of the time. And Liv is becoming tough fighting back when Ella is a little too crazy.
Liv is such a tease too. One particular day Andrew kept asking her for a kiss. She just wasn't giving in so Ella asked for one and Livie obliged. I asked for one, and again she obliged. Andrew asked for one, and she laughed and gave me another kiss.
I absolutely adore my little girl. She's so much fun and such a blessing in our home. I am so incredibly grateful for her in our lives, for however long.
