I've been feeling uber scared lately. Not sure why because Olivia is doing really well. Really, really well. Ah well, if there's anything wrong we'll find out in a month.
Olivia has come up with some funny new habits. She loves playing with her ears and does this funky thing where she'll push her thumb up against the side of her head 'til it buckles. She'll also do it against the table, my arm, really anything she can. Then her cousin taught her a funky little wrist flicky thing. It's so funny. Like she's practicing being a beauty queen or something.
Liv is still super quiet. She doesn't even really say "mama" anymore. We're blaming that one on us being sick and having to wear masks for a week+. We're pretty sure her not being able to see our mouths just freaked her out. So currently she doesn't say much at all but blows lots of raspberries. And yells. Good news though. She may not talk much but she giggles for us now! She still prefers to laugh for Ella but when we tickle her and her mood is right she'll laugh.
Liv is also a sucker for daddy. It's a good thing he leaves for work while she's still sleeping when he heads to work in the mornings. On days that he has off, the second he leaves the room she whips out the crocodile tears and does her super pathetic cry. It's rather heartbreaking. But Andrew loves it. Not the crying, just the fact that she loves him.
On the physical development front Liv is slowly improving. She rolls a ton now, in both directions. She still gets stuck every once in a while, usually under the piano bench, but there's been some definite improvement. She also sits really well. She's getting closer to crawling. She'll lean over onto her hands in order to reach something and is starting to tuck her legs back. I guess we'll see how long it takes her to catch on. Oh, and she's been practicing clapping. She claps by smacking the back of her hand with the other hand. She hasn't quite figured out how to get her hands together yet. She does make sure they're nice and open when you pat-a-cake for her.
On the medical front, Liv is still doing well. We've been doing her feeding therapy once every two weeks and so far there's been some good improvements. She's finally starting to increase feeds. She's now eating up to 6 oz at a time though most days takes only about 4 oz. We've decreased her feeds at night in hopes of getting her to eat more. It's working pretty well but has also caused her weight to kind of plateau. Luckily, she's such a chunk that's not a huge deal.
Olivia sleeps well, loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with Ella, giving open mouth kisses/sucking on your face, snuggling, playing the piano (the four key play piano), sitting at the table with us for dinner, playing pat-a-cake, laughing, and taking baths.
She hates being left alone, staying up late, sleeping in anything other than her bed, and getting dressed.

The bottom-most right picture is her doing her thumb collapsy thingy.

Absolutely adorable and proud of her.
Such a cutie! Miles (also 8 months) still only drinks 4-6 oz at a time from a bottle, so I don't think that she is too far off (he is also pretty small compared to Liv). That is incredibly exciting that she is doing so well in her physical development! Grant wasn't sitting unassisted until after he turned 1 and didn't crawl till he was much older! GO LIV!!
