What!? This girl is six months? I can't believe it. I know I've mentioned this before but I feel like I've totally missed out on the first few months of her life. Pretty sure time is supposed to freeze while you're in the hospital. But that's obviously not the case.
At six months old, Olivia is proving to be a stubborn little thing. She finally learned to roll over from her front to her back and has since then refused to do much of tummy time. The second she's on her tummy she rolls right over. Then there's her love of jumping. She was pretty close to sitting up on her own but lately will NOT. The second we sit her up she starts working her legs and promptly falls backwards. So, instead she spends a whole lot of time in her jumper. Then there's her naps. If I don't sing ALL her lullabies, the girl will not sleep. At least for not long. I'm just hoping her stubbornness gets her to pass her swallow study on Thursday.
Liv loves playing with toys now. Ella never really went for toys. She always wanted to play with the random things like a water bottle or a wooden spoon. So it's nice to see the toys that Ella had finally getting played with.
Liv's hand-eye is getting pretty good. She'll actually grab for toys or binky or bottle. And of course, everything goes to her mouth (yay for no oral aversions!!!) Speaking of which, she also has been trying out baby food for the fist time recently.
Liv still has her favorites. Daddy for snuggles (he's nice and warm) mommy for food and bedtime, and Ella for EVERYTHING else. Ella can do no wrong in Liv's eyes. Even when Ella is being kinda mean.
And Liv is continuing to prove the Dr's wrong. At her six month well-child appointment Liv measured in at a beautifully chubby 19.94 lbs (98%) and 25.5 inches long (45%)
This week should bring at least one other big change, and hopefully two. Friday Olivia has a cardiology appointment and at the last one we were told that she'd be taken off her oxygen during the days at this next one. Thursday she has another swallow study. If she can pass this one she will be put on an NG tube and she'll be on her way to full oral feeds. I really, really, REALLY want a tubeless baby for Christmas. Either way, I fully expect to break into tears on Thursday. Tears of joy if she passes, tears of...unjoy (to put it nicely) if she fails again. If she does fail again there will be talk of the g-tube. I've had a few people talk to me like the g-tube's not a big deal and all that jazz but I really don't want to go there. Ah well...
Olivia is such a sweetheart. She's still fairly quiet but is getting more and more vocal. She loves blowing bubbles, and watching cartoons with her sister. She hates being alone. Loves meeting new people. And has the most beautiful hazel eyes, dimples and smile ever.

What a complete angel she is. Thanks for sharing her with us and this whole trip. It's been a wild one at times but so worth it.
