I've been dying to take Ella to her first movie in the theater. I've been planning this for several months now. Ever since the new Muppet movie came out to be exact. We've been waiting for it to go to the dollar theater since we rarely go to the regular theater. Such a better deal when you can get a refillable popcorn and drink and still be under what you'd pay for tickets alone at the regular theater.
Yesterday, the stars finally aligned. We weren't doing anything special, the house was acceptable, Ella took a long nap, and I checked the times before the last showing. So we went. And it was awesome. Once they started singing the first song Ella started bouncing up and down in my lap. She only lasted in my lap for a short while. She either wanted to sit by herself or with daddy. She ate a TON of popcorn. Drank a ton of red cream soda. And when the movie was over she wanted to go to another. Now, I'd be lying if I said she had been perfect during the whole thing. She did want to go explore the big dark room. She had to survive with just exploring our little side row. And she didn't mind. By the end, however, she was nice and settled in daddy's lap. Next time there's a decent kids movie out we'll have to try it again.
