Two Years, Three Months

And we're back...darn tantrums. Darn holidays. At least that's what I'm blaming it on. All the treats, missed naps, new toys. She's not as bad as she was during her first bout of terrible two's but she is definitely trying to assert her independence. That and she's getting used to a little guy that I'm babysitting twice a week this semester. Luckily, we've been down this road so we know what to do and she's snapping out of it pretty quickly. I just have to make sure I pray for patience and take my nap. The tantrums aren't that bed either. There's no kicking and screaming. Just what I like to call extreme whining.

Other than the tantrums Ella is still my super adorable little girl. She's getting more and more excited for baby. Lately we've been showering together since it's getting harder for me to bend over the tub to bathe her. She loves showering. Not only to play but because she gets a great view of baby. When I'm soaping her up she likes to get the bubbles and then "wash baby" so my tummy gets plenty clean. I've also had to start lotioning my belly due to the dry weather and stretching. When I do, Ella will help lotion baby and then give my belly a kiss and say "I yub you baby!" She's going to be such a good big sister.

Ella's definitely experimenting with her independence like I previously mentioned. I try to give her free reign often times so for the most part it doesn't result in extreme whining. She has started saying "I do it!" a ton. Basically anytime you ask if she wants your help she'll say it. And that exclamation mark is not in anger but in excitement. I promise, my kids not a snot :) It's so fun to watch her try to figure things out. She will get frustrated with herself when she can't do it but when she can she is so excited and runs around saying "Mommy, I diyit!" Which, translated is I did it. Sometimes her independence can make her a little stinker when she'll tell you to "go away" but that's a rare occurance.

Even with all this going on, she's still a world class snuggler. And she still loves mommy. If I'm not in the room with her she'll often times run around the house saying "Mommy! Whe a-you?" which is where are you. And then once found "Come on mommy!" I'm promptly dragged to where she's playing. And "Hold you now." I still one of her most common phrases.

Speaking of which, she has now found me and wants me to go snuggle with her and daddy on the couch. Until next time!
