Boy Crazy

Ella has been a great helper this summer. She has been putting up with a lot when it comes to little sisters. She's always running to grab a new diaper, jammies, or something else for Abby. And when she's not doing that she's being a great sport and not murdering Olivia, who has decided now is a good time to start pushing the boundaries. Because of this, we decided that Ella needed a daddy daughter date so Andrew took her to see Wonder Woman. He informed me about a nearly naked Chris Pine so naturally, me being the awesome mom I am, teased her about thinking he was handsome. She got embarrassed and cried...whoops...Anyway, I would really like to have open communication with my girls about boys so (after talking about just telling mom when she's being annoying) we had a talk about it being totally ok if she did or did not think he was cute. And this convo totally helped open up the convo. The next day, she confessed a neighborhood crush. She was a little embarrassed because he's a couple years older than her, but once I explained that daddy is 2 years older than me she was cool with it. And he's not the only one...So the teenage years ought to be fun. Let's just hope that she is awkwardly shy.
Boy crazy isn't the only grown up thing going on with Ella. She's definitely all for the tween girl shows lately, including Sabrina the Teenage Witch. That was fun to introduce her to. It's like pulling teeth to get her to watch a kid show with Liv, which has been another reason for the increased fighting around here. She's just in a hurry to grow up and it's breaking my heart. But also making things super fun. It definitely opens a whole new world for birthday and Christmas shopping.
Speaking of, my first baby will be turning eight in two months! She's picked out a pattern for her baptism dress and the fabric. And last night we scheduled it! She'll be getting baptized on October 7th at 2 pm (unless Disney World interferes...we still haven't heard.) She is so excited.
In other Ella news, we are finally working on her fear of water. She started swimming lessons last week and has already improved a ton. This week we have swimming lessons and tumbling workshop. I plan to wear the big girls completely out before school starts. Of course, she still loves tumbling and is so excited to keep working on her skills. She can do the splits, by the way. It's very impressive.
Ella is still a chicken when it comes to losing teeth. She has two that are so close but she won't let me get close to her mouth. Even though she misses Rilla, her tooth fairy, and would love a new note she has yet to gain the courage to rip those puppies out. And I don't really care enough to do much about it.
