Psych!

I wonder how many posts I could name "Psych" I'm pretty sure this is at least the second. Such is life. And life is beautiful.
So, I thought I'd take a brief minute to document this whole cath nonsense.
Friday, May 1: Olivie woke up with a slight cough. As she moved around and loosened up junk it went away. Naturally, I assumed it was simply allergies or some other sort of common spring-time occurrence.
Saturday, May 2: Cough again. Again, very mild and lessened with movement and play. But, by the time we got home from visiting the in-laws it was taking a quick turn for the worse. I resolved to call into PCH in the morning to see about plans dealing with cath and cough.
Sunday, May 3: Dear Tiffany at PCH, I apologize for calling a million times throughout the day. I called once, twice, then finally got a call back. The on-call cardiologist said we would watch her and if there was no fever and she didn't worsen, we'd go ahead with the cath. Fast forward a whopping two hours. Livie had a low-grade fever, flushed, exhausted, watery eyes, not at all herself. Tylenol brought it down and she returned to her usual self, though a little snotty version. I called, we tentatively cancelled until the card could talk to the cath surgeons. Fast forward a few more hours. I called and we cancelled.
Then followed a long, long night. Livie's oxygen kept dipping into the 60's. She downright refused to put it on. So we did a little fancy maneuvering and attached my kitchen funnel to her oxygen, cranked that sucker up and viola! Blow-by oxygen! It worked fine except she kept moving. I finally convinced her to don the cannula. I had to trick her into falling asleep with it on otherwise she just sat there in that pathetic sick whiney way and cried. It was so sad. She was miserable. Now, did I mention this was all over the course of the night. I slept on her floor, right next to her bed and we were both up every couple hours. Oh, and I got her cold too. Needless to say, we a couple of exhausted sickies.
After such a long night I took her into her ped's this morning. With her horrible O2 we were all worried about pneumonia. When the doc said she had muffled breathing on the right side an extra bit of worry added on. But, after an xray our worries were settled. her lungs looked just fine. We took another reading of her sats and they had gone from high 60's-low 70's to her norm (80ish) in the hour we were there.
So, even though the fast I requested you all to join in ended up not being for the cath, I do believe we saw miracles from that. I have never seen a sickness knock Livie down like this one. Sure, the last one put her on O2 for a month+ but she was her usual self the entire time. This one changed her. So, for the fasting, I thank all who joined. I don't think our visit to the ped would have been as uneventful without those extra prayers.
