Sometimes we hear things incorrectly. Sometimes our mind takes us in the wrong direction. For me, my brain always takes me in a crazy odd direction when singing "As Sisters In Zion." One particular lines says, "We'll comfort the weary, and strengthen the weak." Nice sentiment, right? But my mind takes me in a different direction and I still, after years of trying to break the path my little brain wanders down, catch myself trying to sing, "We'll conquer the weary, and strengthen the weak." Oh the difference one word makes...
My little four year old has come up with some super fun, awesome little phrases. First, and shortest, "Shoot fly!" I giggle every time she gets the oh so familiar phrase "shoo fly" wrong. I kinda love it. Another, I asked her to do something and she says, "Yes, my majesty!" And one in which I nearly wet myself, I have this little thing where if the girls are being grumps or pouty I'll forbid them from smiling. Because we don't allow smiling in my house. So naturally, the little rebels give me their largest, pearliest white smiles. For particular tough cases, I threaten tickles as punishment. During one particular punishment, Ella defiantly says, "So tickle me! I won't judge!" And me and my mommy bladder almost lost it altogether.
Ella has sure picked up a lot from her dear ol' parents. She knows exactly what my favorite songs are, and while we share quite a few fav's (because my child is AWESOME) she has a few of her own. One day, the radio starts playing something, can't remember what, and Ella proclaims, "See? I have hundreds of jams!"
And in case I didn't post this one already, Ella was sitting with me while I working on something. She was playing and then randomly says, "Wanna hear something beautiful?" Naturally, I say yes. She says, "MOoooooo" Again, my mommy bladder almost sprung a leak.
Ella started preschool two weeks ago. What!? Ella is loving it. She loves coming home and telling me all about it. Her favorite part seems to be art time which she gets to have every day. She is really loving making friends, learning new games, and loves her teacher, Ms. Tamara.
Ella is one month away from turning five. Lately, everything is about age. "When I was three" "When I turn five" Her goals for five years old are to learn to ride a two wheeler and grow tall enough for all the rides at Disneyland. Hopefully she's not disappointed in a few weeks when it doesn't all happen over night like she expects it to.
Ella is getting incredibly excited to start getting ready for halloween. She has started watching some halloween movies, and is having a hard time deciding what she wants to be for halloween.
Ella has added some new favorites to life. And because she's my daughter, naturally they're movies. Stardust which she calls "Fairy Dust" because she can't remember and if I don't catch on she says "the one with the witch who turns pretty." And Princess Bride. She has a crush on Wesley.
My sweet little Ella. She's crazy, fun, silly, spunky, and recently shy. I love her darling craziness.
Now, sadly, I have misplaced my camera cord again so until I find it, enjoy some older pictures.
