Ready, Set, Go!

Hold on to your britches one and all!  It's time for some catch up blogging!
I feel like "Flight of the Bumblebee" should be playing as I write this.  Or has been playing for the last month.  It has been one heck of a ride.
We got keys for our new house on May 16th and spent the day cleaning and packing.  May 17th we moved in.  It was a long, exhausting day but just about as good as a day can get.  We ran into a little hiccup when our babysitter had to bring the girls back early due to a silly excuse of a baby being born.  Ok, I guess gramma getting her first grandson and needing to go watch her other granddaughter is an ok excuse and I got an adorable nephew out of it.
And we've been unpacking and getting used to it ever since.  I still keep catching myself almost scolding the girls for jumping up and down and disturbing the downstairs neighbors.  It took us a week to get our new fridge which is gorgeous, three weeks to get a washer and dryer which made for one heck of a folding party, and three weeks for internet which is making for one heck of a catchup on here.
We're currently in the process of repainting and making this place our own.  So for now it doesn't quite feel like our own.  Our furniture is here, we sleep here, but without our faces plastered all over the walls we just haven't marked our territory yet I guess.

The back yard.  The previous garden just wasn't cutting it.

Holy smokes!  How do you like how banged the stairs were?  In general we are living in a spackled paradise.  Holes everywhere!

Andrew even let me try some spackling.

The stripes will be outta here soon and the blue will be in.

Front room.

Kitchen and dining.  Makes our cheap hand-me-down table and folding chairs look pretty ghetto.

Living room.  Hopefully as soon as our photos are no longer cluttering the floor we can keep it tidier.  And hopefully one of these days I will being able to sit on the carpet without getting cat hair on me.  (Yes, I have shampooed and vacuumed multiple times.)

Girls bathroom

Ella's room.  She LOVES the pink. It had pink, purple, green, brown, and white vertical stripes on the bottom half.  Needless to say, those had to go.

Olivia's room was completely brown so agains, added a chair rail and while.  The top half will be purple soon.

Our room...words cannot express  my feeling towards the stenciling on the wall.  See the spackle?  Yeah, they nailed the stencil in place...Again...no words...And just ignore the fact that our quilt doesn't fit the bed...we will someday finish the quilt we made for it.

Mast closet.  The best part!  Andrew's stuff isn't cluttering it because we have an entire unfinished basement to shove it all!

Every day and every little thing you do to it makes it more yours. I'm totally thrilled for you kids and know the little girls are already attached to the place called "home".

Yeah for first homes!! We recently moved into our first home too. The paint job is okay here so luckily we haven't had to tackle that one, but we've got plenty of other projects in the works.
