Our New Pet

We got a new home, new friends, and now a new pet!
It all started one warm evening.  The girls were bathed, the daddy was being all macho working on his generator and we all headed out to witness.  Livie kept yelling "Doddy!" Which in Livie-ese could mean any of the following:doggy, daddy, binky, ducky, cookie etc.  We assumed she saw a neighbors dog.  We kept saying "Oh good!" and she kept yelling "Doddy!" and soon we actually looked.  There on the lawn was a duckling.  It was all alone with not a mama in a sight.  So we caught the little thing and it is slowly warming up to us.
Ella has decided that if it's a girl (something we won't know until it's secondary feathers come in) then we will name her Louise.  A boy, Lewis.  Or, a big boy Donatello.  Currently we are just calling it "ducky" or "Lou/Lew"
We have all fallen in love with our new pet, including Andrew, and are hoping that he/she continues to warm up to us.
