And it went great! I was so nervous...again. I just keep waiting for there to be some more bad news. But, no bomb this time. WAHOO!
So, according to the echo, our girls squeeze (? I think that's what he called it) is still great. So her heart is pumping well. I'm still learning all this stuff so I may not know all the technical terms but I at least am understanding what the Dr's are telling me. I got all sorts of questions answered which was a nice relief. I met with another cardiologist (Dr. Pinto had a family thing and couldn't be there) and he was very straightforward but optimistic, which we really liked. His name was Dr. Su...I think. Anyway, he answered a lot of questions and went over some of the same stuff that Dr. Pinto had at our initial visit. The repetition was nice since we weren't on information overload this time. Then Kim, the "fetal heart coordinator" (I think her job is to hold the parents hand during all this) took us on a tour of the place we'll call home for 3-6 weeks. She's such a sweetheart. Kinda soft-spoken and just one of the nicest women you'll ever meet. The tour was so nice. Andrew and I were both really nervous about doing the tour since we knew chances of seeing some of these heart babies/kids were pretty good. Neither one of us really relished the idea of breaking down in front of a bunch of strangers. But it wasn't bad at all. If anything it was really nice. We did see some kiddos in the ICU and even with all the tubes and a couple of them intubated we handled it very well. I even got to meet a sweet little newborn with a TON of hair. The few nurses we talked to were super nice and also answered a few questions we had. At our next echo we'll tour the U hospital's labor and delivery. Kim will also take care of that tour.
It's so nice to be so well taken care of but all these Dr's appointments make time seem like it's going by twice as fast and it's really freaking me out. Between that and my delivery date being pushed into May I feel like Olivia will be here so soon. I guess one nice thing about our special circumstances is Olivia won't get "yelled" at like Ella did. During the last couple weeks of pregnancy with Ella I kept telling her to get out of me. With Livy, I'm wanting her to just live inside me, safe and warm for forever. Even though she has started reaching to my ribs. Oh well...even though it's scary, I'm so excited to meet this darling girl.

YAY! I am glad that the echo went well... a good squeeze is definitely a good thing. Dr. Su is really great. I am glad you got to meet him too. Before you know it, you will know dozens of the cardiologists and will be able to pick your favorite to follow Olivia once she goes home. I am also glad the tour didn't freak you out. It was hard, but so good for me to have it all in my mind where we would be going and what to expect. Have you started your NST's yet? I totally loved them... a doctor's ordered chance for me to sit down, read a magazine, and drink a juice box. :)
i remember wanting aaron to just stay in! and we had his induction date all set up, and he decided he wanted to come out a little soon, stinker! but isn't kim so great!! i just got to see her the other day! so sweet! we saw dr su for our original diagnosis, and he helped with a procedure after aaron's 1st surgery. we liked him!
You know sarah you and andrew are great examples. I keep wondering how people handle such things. You are great and again if you need anything call.
Primaries is wonderful! We have loved everyone we have met their with Madeline's heart surgery although she had a AV canal defect. We want to stay as close to Salt Lake as we can so we don't have to leave Primaries.
giggle giggle I like that you want her to stay in you but you had yell at Ella, ha ha that is cute! I have had to yell at all my kids, oh except Ty, he came way to early! ha ha. I love that the news is all good lately!!! I am so excited for your adventure! We are praying for you and I its all going to work out great!!!
Dr. Su is awesome! He's my little <3 kiddos cardiologist and we love him & think he is great. Kim is such great person. She can help you out so much. I called her so much before I had Emmett (8/10). To this day if I see her in the halls at PCMC she comes up to us to ask how things are going. Good luck on your little <3 hero. If you need anything please let me know, really.
