Harvest Time!

August was a crazy month for us. Well, mostly for me. Andrew had the usual amount of work. I on the other hand was in charge of harvesting and processing our garden. It's been fun but wow...a lot of work. Especially since I was learning a lot as I was going.
So far I have frozen peas, beans, banana and green peppers, zucchini, and carrots. I have also dried zucchini and cherry tomatoes. And then bottled some beans and have just picked more for another batch of bottling. Oh and I've frozen corn though I didn't grow it. Just picked it and did the rest. It's been fun learning how to do all this stuff. I feel like such a grown up.

Soon I will be bottling tomatoes. We have also been growing spaghetti squash but lucky me, I dont' have to process it. Just pick and it lasts forever. Then there's my FAVORITE part about the garden. PUMPKINS!!! Our plant has between 5 and 7 pumpkins and they're all perfectly shaped. I know because I rotate them so they don't get a flat side. I'm so excited for Halloween and hosting a pumpkin carving party! I will post pictures of my lovely pumpkins soon. They are not all the way orange yet but very close!
