Less than a month and I'll have a one year old! I'm getting ready for her Birthday party. Sure, she won't remember it but I've already got her birthday pages scrapbooked and ready for the pictures so she'll at least have those!
This last month has been filled with lots of little developments in the life of our little Ella Jane. Our little stinker can stand by herself but is too darn chicken to do it for very long. Once she realizes she doesn't have any support she plops right down on her bum.
Ella has been really developing her hand eye coordination a lot. Her new favorite thing to do is take things out and put them back in. I gave her my old wallet with a fake credit card and the girl was happy with that for about twenty minutes. Ella also likes sticking pens in the hole on the end of my hair brush and sucker sticks in the holes on rulers.
Aside from the rulers and sticks Ella enjoys putting on hats. She'll try almost anything as a hat. She loves Andrew's hats and the wet wash cloths we use to wipe her face after dinner. She also like necklaces. Often time's I'll find her with a wash cloth on her head and a necklace on just crawling around the living room. Unfortunately she seems determined to not have any pictures of that. By the time I find my camera she's gotten rid of the necklace or the "hat."
In the speach area she has also been developin a lot. Not only does she say dad now but she actually addresses Andrew as dad. When he gets home from work she starts yelling dad 'til he comes to get her. We're still working on her calling me mom rather than just yelling it when she's mad.
Ella is also learning the noises animals make. She still is a stubborn little girl and doesn't always do it when we're trying to show off. Her favorite is "What does a chicken say?" She still needs a little reminding but once you cluck she will "bock, bock" back. Ella also likes to moo. My favorite noise she's started (that we taught her) is "Laugh like Santa" and she will "ho, ho, ho" at you (after you show her how). It's so darn cute! I figure by Christmas she'll have it down.
