All I do is work. My fourth of July weekend was spent...guess where! Yup, at work. All other managers asked for the weekend off so I got stuck closing. Oh well, holiday pay right? So ultimately I have nothing new and exciting to blog about since I've just been working non-stop. The one thing new that has been going on is Andrew and his handy work.
Andrew was able to get some carpet scraps and was going to make me a new rug for the kitchen. Well, he had to seam two pieces together and while doing so he burned the carpet in Ella's room. So we had a nice long racing stripe down the room. But, we were able to find a carpet remnant at the warehouse where he and Jake get their stuff from. The remnant was the perfect size and also 50% off. So, instead of waiting until the owners charged us and arm and a leg for carpet replacement Andrew paid $70 and we did it ourselves. Well, mostly I just watched. But now our little girl has new carpet and pad and a beautiful room! No more of that thin berber crap for her. Of course now this is making us want to replace the carpet in the rest of the apartment so that it's just as soft too. Andrew says he'll work on the owners and see if he can get them to let us. Seeing as he can get discounted carpet and would install if for free I think they should but we'll see.
