As most of you know Andrew and I celebrated our one year anniversary on Monday. Our original plan was to spend the weekend in Bear Lake but were unable to get reservations. Instead Andrew planned out a little romantic evening (which is very uncharacteristic.)
We began our date by exchanging gifts. I gave him a computer game, Starcraft, which he was very excited about. I had also gotten him 4 movies (Three Musketeers, Monsters Inc., Great Mouse Detective, and the get out of the Disney movies, Bruce Almighty) I gave them to him throughout the weekend. His gift to me was by far much cooler, and very surprising. He didnt' want to get me anything I had asked for, which normally makes him very nervous, but he was succesful
in
getting me something I loved. He got me a necklace and earring set with my birth stone (opal). There are also little diamonds on the jewelry and it's white gold. I feel kind of lame about my gift to him now but he seems plenty happy with it.
After our gift exchange we headed to dinner at Olive Garden, since Italian is my favorite (with the exception of sushi.) Then it was back home where he had hired Lindsey to set up a romantic desert. There was a table cloth layed out in our front room with candles, plates, and "wine" glasses set up. Andrew made me sit in the other room while he lit the candles. Then we both got a piece of cheese cake (his desert) and then a piece of our top layer of wedding cake. He then poored some sparkling cider and while we ate desert we watched our reception and wedding videos that dad made. It was all very romantic and the perfect anniversary. One year down, an eternity to go!
