Ah, I am loving this whole parent of a newborn thing. It helps that this time around there's not CONSTANT feedings, or looming surgeries. Ella had to eat all the time! And of course Liv was just a whole other story. Abby has been so therapeutic. She has helped with the PTSD a ton and I'm so grateful for that. And she sleeps like a dream! The least amount of time she'll sleep at night is 4 hours but lately she's been upping her game. Two nights ago, my Abigail slept for 9 hours! Of course, I didn't. I woke up and had to check to make sure she was breathing because a 9 hour shift at two months is weird. Then last night, seven. Of course she made up for it by freaking out when she woke up. Scared the crap out of me. Se was fussing and then all the sudden screamed bloody murder. It even woke Andrew up. Good times.
At two months Abby has rolled over three times on her own. She still isn't a pro but I am totally ok with that. She does way better at tummy time than my other girls and has gotten really good at holding up her head. She is still a bit of a bobble, but not horrible.
Things we have learned about Abs in the past little while:
She is a snuggler. She wants to be held a lot. On days when I have a lot to do and she spends a lot of time in her rocker/bassinet thingy, she gets pretty grumpy.
She is not a swinger. We tried her out in her swing to see if that helped mommy get more done. It didn't. She really just doesn't like it. We think it might have to do with her reflux and the swinging makes her tummy funny and the reflux worse. Of course, we're just guessing, but for now, no swinging for her. We'll try it out in a month or so and see if that changes.
She has chosen a favorite family member and it is....ME! Yay! I love being the favorite. No surprise that I'm the favorite since I am the food source, but still. I get the most smiles out of her, but Andrew gets the most giggles so he's not too upset. She definitely loves playtime with daddy, but so far, she does seem to want mommy most often.
Abby prefers mommy milk over formula. We do supplement from time to time and she will take it, but at night it's out of the question. When mommy has a ladies night, she won't go to bed until she's had her fill of mommy milk.
It's been so fun getting to know my little Abigail. She's a sweet little thing. She's still pretty stingy with her smiles and rarely gives us actual grins. Andrew is the only one who has ever gotten a giggle from her, but she is mellow and sweet. And absolutely beautiful! Over the past couple weeks her lashes have filled out and lengthened and I can't stop looking at her! So pretty!
Also, she is my smallest. She's only sitting in the 65th and 68th percentiles for height and weight. Ella and Liv were both in the 90%s at this point. Still, she's got some nice little thigh rolls and I am a happy mama.
Her blessing was yesterday and seeing her in her white dress was so amazing. I made the dress. Ella has one my aunt made, but Livie didn't since she was blessed in the hosital. So Liv will inherit mine, Ella has hers, and Abby has the one I made. Anyway, the dress wasn't perfect, but the girl inside made it seem so. She looked so pretty. It was kind of a bittersweet day for me. Ella was born during swine flu so her blessing was at my in-laws. Olivia had her blessing right before surgery in the hospital. Yesterday we blessed Abby in church with family and friends surrounding us. It was an amazing experience, but made me a little sad for the "normal" we missed with the other two. Then again, it was a testimony that the spirit will reside wherever there is good. The spirit was just as strong at each one of my children's blessings and that is what made yesterday so sweet. I had two brothers drive 6+ hours to be apart of Abby's day and I am incredibly grateful to them. We had other family who drove 2 hours. And we had friends drive hour+. We really are so blessed with the people in our lives.

2 Months
She plays with daddy before bed every night.
One of her biggest smiles.
Mommy likes having fashion shows. She's not so sure.
She also loves blowing bubbles. ALL. THE. TIME.
And what's not to love about that little face?
