3.5

Olivia is three and a half. Crazy to think that my girl is half-way between three and four.
Olivia is turning into quite a popular girl with the neighbor boys. Not that she even notices. Livie is more likely to be heard saying "Boys are weird!" than professing her love for any of them. But her indifference may only fuel their love...
Boy number one-Carter: Carter lives across the street and his mother and I have become quite good friends over the past little while. We walk the kids to school together on Tuesdays and Thursdays and do the occasional FHE or dinner together. So, when these get togethers are at the Shields home, Livie goes directly to the Elsa cape they have. And while she struts around in that, Carter is behind her carrying her cape and proclaiming that he is Olivia's prince. In more recent days he has even said that he is her boyfriend and then exclaimed to his family that he is in love with Olivia.
Boy number two-Harrison aka Carter's best friend: Harrison lives behind us and we share a fence. We haven't spent as much time with them, but apparently enough because one night as Harrison's mom/dad were tucking him into bed he sighed, "Livie, Livie, Livie."
Ah, to be young and to feel love's keen sting.
As for the other aspects of Livie's life, she is doing well. She loves school, and life in general. She is loving the holiday season and after the most recent snowfall she ran into my room and said, "Mom, it's snowing. It's Christmas. Can I open my present?" She is dying to open the presents under our tree (grammy does not waste time) So, while we wait she is enjoying the other magical elements of the holiday season.
