32 Weeks

Even though I'm sure you're all getting sick of me, here is yet another post about Olivia. As I'm sure you can see, I am getting quite large. At 32 weeks I ought to be. At this point in the pregancy things are pretty hit and miss. Some nights I sleep great. Others, my back is killing me all night long. Some nights I'm up every couple hours to use the restroom. Others, once is enough.
I'm starting to swell a little. Combination warmer weather and pregnancy have prevented me wearing my wedding ring the past couple days. I can get it on but throughout the course of the day my knuckles swell and I'd rather not have it cut off. So just in case, I won't be wearing it much over the next couple months. My ankles are still ankles though so we're not in too bad of shape.
Olivia is getting stronger and stronger. Last night, she was kicking so hard, I swear I could actually hear it. It was weird and it tickled like crazy! She still a pretty mellow girl. She squirms a lot but rarely gets into those karate kickin' moods. She also has started getting the hiccups A LOT. I'm hoping she gets it out of her system now. Ella would get the hiccups 4-5 times a day her first couple months and would get so fussy. Poor Olivia. If she's like her big sister she's going to be one miserable baby. I hadn't thought about it til another heart mom pointed it out, but hiccups after open heart surgery aren't exactly pleasant.
Olivia is growing like a champ. She's getting up into my ribs more and more everyday. I'm still measuring about a week ahead and today at her ultrasound she was estimated to weigh a whoppin' 4 lbs 12 oz! 2 lbs 2 oz gain in just a month! That's my girl. I am having a harder time moving around because of our size but it's still not too bad. Mostly it's just hard chasing around a two-year-old who doesn't like to listen.
Also learned at the ultrasound, Olivia is still head down. Since she has been for the past couple months I think she's there to stay. Wahoo! No c-section for me! She also prefers to face my right side. So, I often have a little round bum pushing out on the upper left side of my tummy. She likes to tuck her little feet under my ribs or she'll kick out on my right side.
Other 32 week appointment updates are, my regular Dr. and I are officially done with our appointments. At least until we bring Olivia home. Then he will be her pediatrician. He is still Ella's pediatrician too. I'm sad but I do like the specialists a lot. And I met the other one today. Dr. Major is the one I've met with the past couple times. Her partner Dr. Andres was there today and met with me. He's really nice, but I'm hoping Dr. Major is the one to deliver Olivia. I do like her better. At the appointment they did find a little fluid around Olivia's heart but nothing abnormal for heart babies. And there isn't fluid anywhere else which is good. Fluid in other areas of the body will indicate heart failure. So she's good.
We're really winding down here. I only have about 7 weeks left. It's definitely nerve wracking. And I feel like there's so much we haven't done. With Andrew being out of town so much in the past few weeks it's been all I could do to keep up with Ella. So, spring cleaning has come to a halt but hopefully we'll get back to it in the next little while. Wish us luck!
