This is just a few quick Ella stories that I would like to document. They are pretty funny so go ahead and read on. But mostly it's so that I don't forget.
*One day as I was sitting on the couch Ella approached me. Once to me, she bent her little head down and started nuzzling my thighs. Unsure of what she was doing I kind of patted her head and she then said "meow." I then said "Good kitty." And she "meowed" again. This went on for about five minutes until she decided that daddy needed some good kitty lovin'. So she moved over to him and let him pet her for a while. Not sure who taught her that but very funny.
*When Andrew gets ahold of her...oh the things she learns. While I was getting our 4th of July barbeque all set up Andrew was watching Ella. When I came back I found that she was saying "Rock on!" Complete with tounge hanging out of her mouth and the little horns hand signally thing. Of course once she had to show me and her aunt and uncle she couldn't keep a straight face so instead just would start out then quickly giggle and cover her face.
*Ella knows that there are a few things we absolutely must do before going out to swim in the pool. First, swimming diaper. Second, swimming suit. Third, sunscreen. She also knows that mommy is somewhat forgetful when she puts things down. I just put stuff down without thinking about what I'm doing then can't remember where I put anything. I had done this with the sunscreen the other day. After looking in all the obvious places I asked Ella, "Where did mommy put the sunscreen?" She looks up at me with her big blues, puts her chubby little finger to her chin, taps it a couple times then gives me the "I don't know" shoulders. Who taught her that? I have no clue but it was very cute and very funny.
*It's a good thing Andrew and I don't have bad habits when it comes to language. Ella is starting to say words we never intentionally taught her. For example, the other day we were at a store and they had a small piano thing in a glass case. She kept saying something over and over. I wasn't sure what but finally she pointed to the piano and sure enough, she was saying "pano." She also has surprised me with giraffe, car seat, glasses, clock, sleeping, lotion and many more. It's fun seeing how much she learns without me trying to teach her. It can be a little difficult though because I'm not always sure what she's saying at first. We get it eventually but not without a little frustration on her part. Her vocabulary grows every day. Some of my favorite things she says are "shocklet", bet you can guess that one. "Heycocker" for helicopter. "Aypee" for airplane. "Jaff" for giraffe. "Taeto" for thank you. "Faffle" for waffle. "Effy" for elephant. Then there are her phrases. "Rock on" "Bess you" for bless you. "Pease ok" I think she does that because I'll say "what do you say" and when she says please I say ok. "Taeto, welcome" Again, because my response is always "you're welcome." "Daddy seeping/work/nose/shower." Seeping=sleeping and nose=blowing his nose. "I you" for I love you. Complete with a half formed I love you hand sign. Bascially she just sticks out her thumb and pointer finger with the rest of the fingers down. She hasn't quite mastered that pinky yet.
Ok, I think I got everything that I was wanting to put down. If not, see you all sooner rather than later. Oh and because she's so cute, here's a picture!
