20 Months

This has been a trying but mostly amazing month. Ella's been quite difficult off and on which I attributed to her bottoms molars still working there way through (they've been doing this dance for two+ months now) Come to find out, she was also working on her top two molars which have actually beat the bottom two in breaking their way our of her gums. I found this out the hard way when she bit me while I was checking her bottom molars. But can you blame the girl for biting things. Her poor little mouth just hurts!

Even with the teething, Ella has been amazingly sweet. Aside from the occasional orneryness and the snotty noses and the not eating she has been learning more and more everyday and is overall enjoying life. And because of the teething she is more cuddly than normal.

Ella really loves kissing! Kissing owies, kissing good night, making mom and dad kiss. For example, Ella and I play this little game where I ask her question after question and she always answers "no" She thinks it's hilarious. Anyway, Andrew was holding her one day and we were playing and I asked her "Can I kiss you?" And she said "no" then I asked her "Can I kiss daddy?" She then grabbed Andrews face turned it toward me then grabbed my face and pushed out faces together. It ended up being a toothy kiss since we were both laughing super hard and couldn't manage a pucker.

Ella still LOVES Ring-around-the-rosie but luckily for me she doesn't have to have me play anymore. She'll just get one of her stuffed animals and spin while saying "Ashes, ashes, down!"

The lucky girl got a swing for daddy's birthday this year! My mom decided to give Andrew his present early so Ella could enjoy it. And she has. We usually have to pry her out of it when we want to go back inside. She loves to just sit in there and relax while pointing at birds, trees and airplanes. All of which she can say. Airplane sounds like "aypee" It's pretty stinkin' cute. Today we saw life-flight so I tried getting her to say helicopter. She did pretty good but then decided it was actually an "aypee"

Ella is now slightly obsessed with Elmo. We have a couple Elmo books and we HAVE to read those before bed time. To get Ella to stay in her bed we have to tell her Elmo is in his bed. We've had to rent some Elmo movies so that she can watch those when she sleeps through sesame street. (And so I don't have to watch Toy Story again)

Speaking of Toy Story, Andrew and I moved them from where they normally are on the shelf (We alphabatize and categorize) We were seeing how long it would take her to find them. Well, we did this on Sat. night after she went to bed. She found them Sunday after church and her nap. So basically as soon as she got the chance to look.

Andrew's absolutely favorite thing that Ella does is say "Bless you" She says it when you sneeze (go figure) but also anytime you make some strange noise with you mouth. So if you burp, cough or have the hiccups.

She is so cute and never stops making me giggle at all her cute little things she does. I can't believe how old she is though, for some reason it is just stuck in my head that you just had her, and it so weird to think that she is coming up on 2 years old already!
