Eight Months

It's amazing how quickly eight months goes by. Ella has been getting stronger and stronger. She's getting close to crawling but still prefers to roll to where she wants to go. We've also been practicing walking. Ella loves it when Andrew or I just hold her hands and walk with her. Ella also is finding her likes and dislikes more now. She loves music and she is starting to dance but only to certain bands/songs...such as Offspring and ACDC. She is her daddy's girl. She likes her Disney music to be on for play time and Enya for nap time. So she's her mommy's girl too. Like all babies she loves chewing on stuff, especially paper. She only gets that on rare occasions when Andrew and I aren't paying attention. When we take it away she throws a mini tantrum until she finds her thumb or another toy. Ella also got to try her first popsicle on Memorial Day. She was a little shocked at first but once she got over the cold and realized it tasted pretty good she loved it. She also figured out if you bite down a chunk would come off in your mouth so she did that several times. That made her very protective daddy a little nervous so the chunks of popsicle didn't stay in her mouth very long.
On a sad note, Ella was sick for the first time ever. She's had little colds a couple of times but they were mild enough to just make her a little sleepier than usual and have a slight runny nose. This time she had a rough time. We're not sure if Ella caught the cold I had a week ago or if she caught something else. My cold was very mild and only last a a couple days. She ended up getting a fever, runny/congested nose, and a small cough. I've never seen her so upset. Needless to say I didn't get a lot of sleep last week. It broke my heart to see her so miserable. But, I couldn't help but feel special. While sick Ella would only sleep with me holding her or at least in the room and when she wasn't sleeping she wanted me to cuddle with her. Even though I was exhausted I kept thinking how being a mom is the best.
Well that's about it for our little Ella Jane. Here's a cute video of her. She's starting to experiment more with noises. Enjoy :) (Oh and ignore the mess that surrounds her. I was doing laundry and made a nest around her while she was on our bed. It was for her own safety...and I hate folding laundry so was avoiding it.)
