I had a baby!

On October 6th, after a weekend of painful contractions (which would stop as soon as I went to bed) my water finally broke. Well, it actually just kind of cracked a little. About two drops came out and then nothing. Conveniently I had a Dr.'s appointment an hour later so I just went in and told him. He informed me that it was probably just urine due to a movement of the baby. But he tested me just to make sure and sure enough, my bladder control was fine and I really was leaking. So Dr. Firth said, "Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Go to the hospital." So I did. Andrew was working so I called him to let him know where I was headed and on my way saw Jake running him home (he didn't really want to spend the day at the hospital in his work clothes.) I arrived at the hospital around 11:30 am and was induced about an hour later. I made it a few hours but wasn't progressing so they turned up my pitocin, the contractions got really bad, and I got the epidural. Yes, it hurt but was SO worth it. As soon as I got the epidural my body relaxed enough and I was went from 4 cm to 10 in about 1-2 hours. Soon I started feeling the urge to push but my Dr. wasn't there. I called my nurse and she said they'd wait about an hour and then I could push. Supposedly waiting an hour makes the pushing go better. Then I started to cry because that is a very uncomfortable feeling. And yet again, the Lord was looking down on me and sent my Dr. He was actually just coming to check on another patient and just popped in to say hi. He saw I was not a happy girl and so had me do a couple trial pushes to see where I was. He then said to keep pushing and would be right back. He went and checked on his other patient and then came back and after 27 minutes of pushing I had a little girl. Now, I still don't have internet at my place so don't have pics with me but I will get some up asap. Ella is now 2 weeks old and doing great. She's holding her head up for short periods of time and smiles/laughs in her sleep. If it weren't so cute it would actually be a little creepy :) She's got everyone wrapped around her finger especially her daddy. We are loving being parents.
