My poor little boy-crazy 4-year-old is suffering from a bad case of heartbreak. With the big move coming up in just a week the house is looking more and more sparse making the move all too real for Ella. She is incredibly excited to have a pink bedroom and two bathrooms and a sandbox but is it all worth the loss of her favorite boyfriend? Ella recently became friends with the boy two doors down and they have planned their wedding and professed their love for one another. Unfortunately I am not close with his mother and Ella knows this means the odds are we won't see much, if any, of her little man in the future. So, our two-month angel streak has been broken and we have had a household of weepy emotions around here.
Even through the emotional roller coaster Ella's been riding she's been good at taking it out on everyone but me. While Ella's sadness increases over the impending move so does her mommy cuddliness. I haven't gotten a lot of cuddles from her over the past few months. Between her always on the move and Olivia's love of dominating mommy Ella and I have grown apart cuddles-wise. I have been extremely pleased with their renewal.
Part of Ella's favorite thing (and now mine) is having a good talk after throwing a good fit. Once Ella has calmed down from one of her meltdowns we'll just sit on her bed snuggling and chatting. The chats usually involve me talking to her about the fit and evolve into some quality bonding time. I absolutely adore watching Ella talk. She's so animated and loves to make me laugh. She loves listening to stories about Princess Ella (silly made-up stories about a remarkable heroin) and stories from when she was a baby. Those chats we have make the meltdowns worth it.
Other than our chats and snuggles, here are some of Ella's favorite things:
Food: lasagna, spaghetti, goldfish, cinnamon toast, peanut butter toast, PB&J
Dessert: anything, especially chocolate
Movie/TV: Scooby Doo, Curious George, Avengers (cartoon) My Little Ponies, Care Bears, The Lorax, Mirror Mirror (really, this list could go on forever. She is so much like me it can be scary...)
Games: Hide and Seek, pretend grocery store, house, primary, basically anything pretend. She also loves playing dirty marbles with daddy.
Unfortunately, I only have one fun Ella story this month. I've been bad about writing them down. With the sun out and the temperature rising Ella's play has gotten more wild and naturally owies are bound to happen. Ella has managed to get splinters a couple times already. Like any kid, she gets more panicked over us getting it out than her having a chunk of wood stuck in her skin. During once adventure with a splinter she told me, "If I get out my splinter than probably I'm gunna be a doctor when I grow up." Works for me!

Heartbroken
With her anti-picture Turley gene kicking in I've had to start snapping them when she's not looking.
See? And she's usually eating when I do.
Unless I'm taking pictures of sister. Then she'll pose.
Enjoying the sun after a hectic egg hunt.
Ella's boyfriend that she's so sad to leave can be a bit of a bad influence. This is what happened after he discovered the fire pit in our backyard. Right before family pictures....
